ENNICA MUKOMBERANWA

Biography

Ennica Mukomberanwa is the youngest sister in the Mukomberanwa family. She has been sculpting from early age, just like her brothers and her sister. Mainly creating sculptures of minor sizes. But Lawrence, her elder brother, persisted in challenging her to try her hand at larger scale sculptures. And eventually she found her way, commanding the proportions of larger sculptures, especially fine are her reliefs, such as celebrations, or children playing the hoop or music making.

Ennica is a lively and humorous person and in 2004 she won the price Woman Artist of the Year, which took her to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Scotland and Canada. Her pieces of art talk to people everywhere with their kind and direct message. She has the distinctive Mukomberanwa style, in her own personal way.
